Jada Pinkett Smith’s ex-girlfriend August Alsina appeared to be a member of the LGBTQ+ community on Monday.
The Kissin’ on My Tattoos singer, 30, discussed his new relationship while appearing on VH1’s The Surreal Life reboot. A man was then photographed sitting next to August, and as the two shared a hug, August told him “I love you.”
It comes two years after Jada, 51, admitted she was involved in a years-long relationship with the R&B singer, which she has famously referred to as an “engagement.”

At the beginning of the clip August was pictured describing longing for “a love that seems limitless”.
The scene then changed to the singer seated a confessional like him she said to the camera, ‘And then what do you know? Love showed up, but in a new way.’
She continued, “I want to share this and really honor the one I love and who loves me and who teaches me so much about love and healing.”
Love: The singer, 30, has discussed his new relationship and his desire to “honor the person I love and who loves me back”
Sweet: Then he was joined by a man who sat next to him. The two hugged and August said ‘I love you’
“I want to do it in front of the world because it challenges all constructs of what one would say that love should be or what love should look like.”
August has not clarified his sexuality or revealed whether the relationship was romantic.
The video concluded with a photo from a happy August and a caption stating that she was “shedding her old skin, starting over.”
Jada admitted to being in a relationship with August in 2020 and even had husband Will Smith on his talk show Red Table Talk discuss it in front of the world last year.
“I want to do it in front of the world because it challenges all the constructs of what one would say that love should be or what love should look like,” she added.
Interesting: August didn’t clarify his sexuality or divulge whether the relationship was romantic
It’s also been reported that August — who was just 23 when he first met Jada — is set to write a revealing book that will go into detail about their sex lives.
“August is preparing to sign a big book deal detailing his romantic relationships with Jada,” a source tells The Sun.
“He always maintained that Will gave him permission to sleep with Jada, which they denied publicly.”
The source adds, “August will go into detail about his time with Jada and also talk about how he spent time living in the homes Will owned when he was away filming.”
Shedding His Skin: The video ended with a photo of happy August and a caption stating he was “shedding his old skin, to start over”
‘There are several publishers bidding on books and August is preparing the best deal.
“She knows there are many people who are fascinated by her story and she is happy to tell it.”
Last year, Will confirmed that he and Jada are in an open relationship, admitting that she “never believed in a conventional marriage” as he promoted his memoir.
The couple made headlines in July 2020 when they addressed Jada’s relationship with August on her candid talk show Red Table Talk.
Affair: It was revealed in 2020 that Jada Pinkett-Smith, 50, was in a relationship with August, which she famously called an “engagement” (pictured above in 2017)
She began explaining that the couple met August through their son Jaden, 22, and recalled that the singer, who was reportedly 23 at the time, was “really sick” (as he battled a genetic liver disease).
Jada said: ‘And it all started with him just needing help, me wanting to help his health, his mental state.
“The outpouring to him from our family was initially about his health,” she said. “We found all those different resources to help him survive and from there you and I were having a very difficult time.”
After Jada’s confession, Will admitted, “I was done with you,” while Jada added that they’ve decided to separate for a “period of time.”
“And then what did you do, Jada?” Will asked, urging his wife to keep talking.
“As time went on, I got into a different kind of engagement with August,” Jada explained.
The mother of two continued to respond to August’s claim that Will gave her “permission” to have an affair.
Shocking: Jada explained that she struck up a friendship with August four years ago, but revealed that she and Will were having a “tough time” and had “basically broken up”
One-on-one: The actress, 48, sat down with her husband Will Smith for an intimate conversation on his Facebook show, Red Table Talk, where he revealed how the relationship unfolded
When Will pressed Jada to clarify what he meant by “entanglement,” she replied, “It was an affair, absolutely.”
Jada continued: ‘I was in a lot of pain and was very broken. In the process of that relationship I definitely realized that you can’t find happiness outside of yourself.’
She denied August’s claim that Will had given his blessing on the relationship and said they were separated at the time.
The relationship sent shockwaves around the world with many turning to Will to see how the movie star would react.
Curiously, Jada had initially denied August’s claims that they were an item, until she finally confessed saying “there’s some healing to take place… so I’m taking myself to the Red Table.”
Singing about it: August also mentioned the relationship earlier this year in his single Shake the World “Well obviously some things are going to go down when you bump into the world’s favorite”
