Josh Duggar was found guilty of two counts of child pornography in December 2021. He was later sentenced to more than 12 years behind bars, and in June 2022, Josh was transferred to federal prison in Texas. While Josh spent Christmas 2021 behind bars in an Arkansas detention center, this Thanksgiving will be his first in federal prison.
There is a special holiday menu at FCI Seagoville
Josh Duggar eats all three meals a day at FCI Seagoville and will for the next 10 or more years. While federal prisons aren’t generally known for their cuisine, they do offer special holiday menus. Inmates, including Josh Duggar, of FCI Seagoville, will enjoy a special luncheon on Nov. 24.
The prison holiday meal is served during lunch. During lunch the inmates will be offered both turkey breast and cooked ham, according to the menu obtained from InTouch. Sides will include green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, stuffing, and buns. Vegetarian offerings are also available. Lunch is complete with desserts. Dessert is generally not served as part of regular meals in federal prison facilities.
Over the course of the day, inmates will be able to choose from several sandwich options for dinner. The breakfast, according to the menu, will not deviate from the breakfast served daily in federal prisons.
Josh Duggar’s first Thanksgiving behind bars will also include special activities
There’s more than just a meal to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday. According to InTouch, inmates at FCI Seagoville will be able to enjoy special Thanksgiving events and activities. Movies and popcorn will be available. According to the publication, there is also a basketball tournament that inmates can choose to enter.
On a normal day, Josh and the other inmates at FCI Seagoville would have to stick to a strict routine. All inmates are required to get up and have their beds made by 7:15am. During the day, Josh must complete chores and follow strict prison policies. Meals are also served at set times and the father of seven has only limited access to phones and visitors. Inmates must be completely silent by midnight.
Impossible to say where Anna Duggar will spend the holidays
While Josh’s Thanksgiving whereabouts are factored in, it’s unclear where Anna Duggar, Josh’s wife, will be spending the holidays. Since Josh’s arrest, Anna has remained in Arkansas with the Duggar family, but tensions have reportedly run high between Anna and Josh’s family.
In October 2022, an alleged insider sat down with the Ashley Reality Roundup Group to discuss the Duggar family dynamic. The insider says Anna is hoping to leave Arkansas and move to Texas. Josh is allegedly against the move. According to the insider, Anna’s motivations for the move are twofold. A move would allow her to be closer to Josh and the prison she’ll spend the next decade in, and give her and her seven children some space at the Duggars’.

Anna could choose to vacation in Arkansas with the Duggars, or she could choose to visit her own family in Florida. It is also possible that Anna is staying with her sister, Priscilla Waller, who lives in Texas with her family. Regardless of where Anna spends her holidays, she is unlikely to advertise it. She has been mostly absent from social media since Josh’s arrest.
