Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, is the traditional start of the holiday shopping season, with many retailers offering deep discounts.

Over time, however, retailers have merged Black Friday and Cyber Monday, offering both in-store and online deals, and have started rolling out discounts sooner. This year, Black Friday sales started as early as October.
